Makerbot Replicator
Our middle school students use our 3D printer for many things:
holders for tripods to use for video projects,
- Class projects: When asked to make something, students have opted to design the object to 3D print for English Language Arts, Spanish, Science, STEM, and Social Studies classes.
- Designs created in their spare time. Some examples include favorite characters from video games and things to reflect their personal interests.
- Students have printed objects to solve problems.

- Makerbot Tech Crew is responsible for maintaining printer, changing filament, troubleshooting problems and helping students evaluate designs for printing.
- We use PLA filament in 10 different colors: red, blue, white, green, yellow, orange, purple, warm gray, cool gray & black.
- Students can use Tinkercad, 3D Builder or any program that can export .STL files.
- All designs are sent to Mrs. Gately & the Makerbot Tech crew for printing.
- Mrs. Gately and the tech crew work with students to make adjustments necessary for the object to print correctly and make sure parts are properly aligned, supported and sized before printing.
